Wedding Flowers

This weeks post is all about your wedding venue flowers and also touching on table decorations. When you go for your initial meeting with your florist you will put together a selection of flowers and foliage which reflect your theme, dress and also the venue. Once your bouquet flowers have been chosen then you can dispersed these flowers throughout the venue to link all your venues together. I’ve broken this blog post down into two sections to make it easier to understand, so let’s get into it.

Ceremony Flowers

Whether you are going for a religious or civil ceremony your flowers will be very similar and will depend on what you are looking for. The chair that face the aisle will typically have flowers attached to the chair. This helps to bring attention to where the aisle is and also adds a lovely pop of colour and softness to this area of the space. You could also line the aisle with petals too, if you have a flower girl she would be doing this job anyway. As the reach the end of the aisle it’s also nice to have something either at the alter or either side of the end of the aisle. The image on the right is a lovely dome of flowers and foliage that really soften and brighten up the room you are getting married in.

trees in church

If you are lucky enough to get married in a building with very high ceiling or a grand cathedral and are looking for a gorgeous way to decorate your ceremony why not look into having trees. I know it sounds really odd but if you take the time to pick out quite sparse trees with maybe some flowers in it then the outcome can be stunning.

Wedding Breakfast

Where ever you decide to have your wedding breakfast flowers will really help to show the theme of your wedding and bring some life and colour to the space. I have put together a collection of different ways you can incorporate flowers and foliage into your table decorations.

The most important rule for your table decorations is they either need to be bellow or above someone eye level. This way you can ensure that everyone can see each other, making conversation easier and allowing everyone to chat to each other. With this in mind you can incorporate flowers however you like.

For low table arrangement bottles, vases and lanterns make for great vessels to hold flowers in or around. You can pick out certain flowers or colours from your bouquet to great a colour scheme through the whole room either making it look unison on each table or adding some difference variations around the room. You will find if you add some foliage (leaves) into your flower arrangements the price will drop as foliage is a lot cheaper than flowers.

If you are wanting more of a statement piece then you can have a much large display of flowers. Tall flower arrangement will normally be held up by a candle stand, or something similar in shape and then had flowers incorporated into it. With a tall flower arrangment your find it will make an amazing impact the moment you walk into the room because they will be around you eye level when you are stand up.

If you are currently choosing your wedding flowers then Pinterest is a great way to gather some inspiration and show your florist what you are looking for. Go take a look at last week blog post all about wedding bouquets as that also part of your wedding flowers. I will cover table decorations in further detail a bit later on so keep an eye out for that. Hope you had a lovely weekend and I will see you very soon.

A Few Ways to feel Festive this Season

I can’t believe how close Christmas is now and I thought it would be nice to share with you some of my favourite ways to feel festive. This year I have found I have had moments where I didn’t feel festive at all but by doing a few things, listed bellow, I immediately felt Festive and so excited for Christmas.

Putting up your Christmas Tree

One of the first things I do when Christmas comes round is putting up the tree. Putting up your tree and Christmas decorations helps make your home feel Christmasy and cosy. I love coming home and turning on the fairy lights, it makes the living room feel so magical.

Fir Tree Candles

If you have followed me for a while then you will know I am obsessed with candles, especially at Christmas. I’m not very keen on really spicy, traditional Christmas Candles so I tend to go for more fresh scents. My favourites are Fir Tree (The White Company one smells amazing), Frankincense and Balsam. I will always have at least one candle burning and it makes the whole flat smell and feel so Christmasy.

Organising Dates to see Family

Over the Christmas period we always try and see family and close friends. For me Christmas is all about spending time with loved ones. I love planning my days out over Christmas, it makes the festive season last a bit longer and means you can fit in everyone. I find the 5 days between boxing day and new years eve feel a bit weird so seeing family and fiends is a great way to make Christmas last that bit longer.

Watching your Favourite Christmas Movie

I love sitting down in the evening and putting on my favourite Christmas movie, its a great way to make you feel festive and Christmasy. My top Christmas movies have to be Arthur Christmas, Elf, The Polar Express and Prep & Landing. There are so many others I love too but these are the ones I watch at least twice over the Christmas period.

Go on a walk

I love going on walks, even if its a short one. Over Christmas my favourite time to go out is when the sun is setting, everyone then has their Christmas lights on and it looks so festive. There is something so nice about seeing other people’s Christmas trees in the windows or lights hanging from peoples houses.

Making Festive Drink

There are so many festive drinks to choose from, whether its a festive Starbucks coffee, a Christmas Cocktail or Mulled Wine, there is something everyone will enjoy. I love making mulled wing, Roasting Chestnuts and enjoying them with loved ones. If you love the sound of mulled wine but don’t drink alcohol then why not make a Christmas punch instead.

Wrapping up Christmas Presents

I normally wrap all my Christmas presents on one day and make an afternoon out of it. I love sitting down with a Christmas movie or songs on, grab a few different wrapping papers and spend the afternoon wrapping everyones gifts. For me Christmas is all about giving and see those smiles when they open up your presents on Christmas day. If you don’t have time to sit down and wrap up all your presents at once then why not do a couple every night instead.

Hopefully you enjoyed reading this blog post. Let me know what you like to do to feel festive. If you are still trying to sort out Christmas gifts then why not take a look at my Christmas gifts guide; For him, For Her, Beauty Edition. My stocking Gift guide will be going up Friday so keep and eye out for that.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Gift Guide: For Her

Christmas is drawing closer so it’s time for the Christmas Gift Guide for Her. I have also done a Christmas Gift Guide for Him and a Beauty edition too Enjoy!

Jo Malone: Peony & Blush Suede cologne (100ml £90)

I had to include this in my gift guide for her as this fragrance is so different to anything else I have ever worn. I love Jo Malone Fragrances but this one really stands out from the rest with its fizzy apple tops notes and base notes of blush suede. This fragrance would be great for someone who like to wear a fragrance that is quite soft with floral & fruity notes. This cologne last throughout the day but the notes slightly change as the crispy fizzy apple wears off to the gorgeous soft blush suede.

The White Company: Spa Relax & Restore Bath Shot Gift Set (£20)

This duo of bath oils from The White Company are perfect for a bath lover. The White Company do some of the most amazing bath and body fragrances. Relax and Restore are the two ranges The White Company have dedicated towards unwinding and creating the perfect relaxing night in. Any bath lovers would love this gift as it would make any bath time feel luxurious and completely relaxing.

Liz Earle: Lavender & Basil Botanical Candle (£23)

When it comes to candles everyone has their favourite scents, so it can sometimes be hard to find one you know they will love. Well this candle is one I think every women would love to receive on Christmas day. This candle is very relaxing with the soft note of lavender and a hind of fresh basil, which is a twist on the classic lavender scent. It is the perfect candle to unwind to in the evening or just when you want to relax.

Anna Calvert: Long Link Necklace (£39)

Jewellery is a great present for anyone, especially if it is something very simple and timeless. This necklace by Anna Calvert is a gorgeous example of a piece of jewellery that is so simple and is so easy to wear. The design of this necklace is beautiful with it’s 24″ chain and the handmade circular pendant has a lovely scratched texture to it.

Top Shop: Bobble Hat (£14)

Bobble hats are a great present for the any girl, they keep your warm and look great at the same time, what more could you want. My personal favourite is this one from Topshop, its a blush pink knitted hat with a cute faux fur bobble. This bobble hat is made from 4% wool meaning it will keep your head toasty on those cold months.

Delicious Ella by Ella Woodward(£9.99)

Delicious Ella is a brilliant recipe book for anyone who wants to change their lifestyle and start eating delicious food that is great for you. This recipe book covers amazingly tasty dinners to juices packed full with tons of fruit and vegetable recipes. This book is perfect for anyone who loves to cook or wanted to start eating healthier whilst enjoying every bite.

Scandinavian Home by Nikki Brantmark (£19.99)

Scandinavian interiors have become very popular over the past year and this book is perfect for someone who wants to inject some Scandinavian design into their home. The photographs in this book are gorgeous to look at, and would make a lovely coffee table book.  This book goes through a variety of different styles of Scandinavian interiors and how you can incorporated them into your home.

Sainsbury’s: Ethereal Marble Wiro Desk Planner (£3.50)

Staying organised should be so easy with calendars on your phone and laptop but sometimes it’s useful to have a physical planner that sits on your desk. I always find writing down a to do list and keeping track of dates in my diary helps keep me organised and motivated. If you know someone who loves staying organised, or who struggles to keep on top of things, then this is the perfect gift for them.

So there are my top picks for the perfect gifts for her. Let me know which are you favourite or if you know of any other great gifts that are a must have this year. Have a lovely weekend.

Merry Christmas!

November Favourites

I bought and tested out quite a few new products last month and thought I would share with you some of my favourites from the month of November. My favourites last month consist of beauty and skincare pieces that have now become part of my daily routine and I can’t imagine not having them. So lets get into it.

Oskia London: Renaissance Cleansing Gel

I recently wrote a skincare update blog post, as my skin has changed over the last 6 months, so I decided to invest in some new skincare pieces. One of the pieces I picked up was the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel, which I have absolutely fallen in love with. I love that this product doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, due to its gel consistency and leaves you skin feeling clean but not dry. This product is around the £30 price range but it is worth every penny, I always think if you invest more in your skincare then you skin will thank you. If you suffer from Oily / Dehydrated skin like mine you will love this product. If you want to read a full review of this product them click here.

Glossier: Balm Dotcom in Original

When Glossier launched in the UK I was on the fence of whether or not to try it, but as you can see I decided to give it a go. I picked up three products with one of them being the Balm Dotcom. I am very fussy with my lip balm, as I get very dry and chapped lips in the winter, so a lot of lip balms seem to make my chapped lips worse which I hate. I have been using the L’Occitane 100% Shea butter for about a year now and wanted to give this product a go and see how good it was. I was really surprised how thick this balm is, it can be used all over your body on any dry patches, but I would just use this on my lips. Due to the fact this balm is so thick it means your lips feel hydrated hours later and you only need to apply it twice a day. I picked it up in original but will definitely be picking it up in the other flavours too.

Glossier: Cloud Paint in Dusk

One of the other products I picked up was the Cloud Paint in Dusk. I was really intrigued by this product, as I had never tried a liquid blush before. I picked it up in Dusk as this colour is a perfect combination of a blush and bronzer. I love how quick and easy this product is to use and how you can easily apply it with your fingers, I sometimes use a beauty blender to help blend it if I put a bit too much on. The packaging is so fun and the product is super pigmented so you only need the tinniest amount to get a gorgeous subtle colour on your checks. I now use this everyday as it sits so nicely on a cream base and gives a very natural finish, compared to powder blushes and bronzers.

Bobbi Brown: Long-wear Cream Shadow Stick in Dusky Mauve

Moving onto eyes, this month I seem to have been obsessed with cream products. I have been loving the cream shadow stick by Bobbi Brown in Ducky Mauve. To begin with I wasn’t too sure about this product but once I worked this product out I fell in love with it. I usually just apply this product all over my eyelid and then blend out the edges with a fluffy eye brush. It’s such a simple eye look that you could create into a smokey look in the evening or just leave it for a subtle daytime look. I love how quick and easy this look is to create and it lasts all day. I am definitely turning into a cream eyeshadow lover.

Beauty Miscellanies

Oral-B: 3D White Luxe in Glamorous White

I never mention toothpastes in my favourites as I usually just buy whatever is on offer but I have been using this toothpaste for a couple of months now and have noticed a difference in how much whiter my teeth are. I have used a few whitening toothpastes before but none have given me results like this one. I love how clean my teeth feel after using it and I already have another one waiting to be used after this tube has finished.

So there you have my favourites for November. If you have any suggestions of good cream eyes shadows then let me know as I would love to try some more out. Hope you have a lovely rest of your week.

Merry Christmas!

And if you ever loose you phone, just press the tile and your phone will ring. Brilliant gadget for every man!

DJI: Mavic Pro Combo Kit + SD Card (£1,209)

Does your loved one love high end toys/tools, this drone is the most expensive gift on the list but guarantees smiles, fun memories and fantastic footage. This is DJI’s latest drone and it has all their tech packed in a little shell that fits in your bag. Within minutes you can be up and ready to fly and capture the moment from a never before seen perspective, all in 4K video. And if your loved one is a little clumsy, this drone even avoids obstacles and can be set to follow you. This is the perfect gift for a man who loves his gadgets.

An Experience Day

This is a brilliant idea for someone who you know would much rather experience something new rather than receive a scarf they would hardly use. There are loads of companies (like Red Letter Day & Virgin Experience Days) that organise different experiences that you can pay for and a loved one can go and do. Experience days range from One Night Glamping Break for 2 to Supercar Driving and much more. You can always buy a gift card for them so they can pick the experience themselves. There is a experience day for everyone.

Crisp Winters Day

It definitely feels like winter is now here so I thought I would share with you some of my favourite things to do when it is a beautiful crisp winters day.

Make Homemade Soup

One of my favourite things to eat, when it’s freezing cold outside, is homemade soup. My mum has always made soup and I have always made soup ever since leaving home. My favourite is mixed root vegetables, which is so easy to make and tastes amazing. Once the soup is made I cut up some bread and have it for lunch, yummy.

Spend the Afternoon by the Fire

One of my favourite things to do in the winter is to curl up on a sunday afternoon and heat up by my parent’s log burner while reading or just chatting with my family. I love feeling the warmth of the fire on my back and hearing the logs crackle in the background.

Head out on a walk

I love wrapping up warm and heading out on a walk in the woods or at a nearby park. There is something so peaceful about walking through the woods with the leaves crunching under my feet. I always wear a ton of layers to the point that at the end of the walk I am too hot, but its so nice feeling toasty in your coat when the weather is freezing.

Doing some Photography

When its a frosty morning and there is a lovely clear blue sky I love going out and taking some photos. Nature looks so pretty with the layer of frost over it and the blue sky really helps. Just remember a pair of gloves otherwise you will freeze.

Watching my Favourite Christmas Movie

It’s got to the point where I am now watching at least one Christmas movie a week and when it’s freezing outside and I know  I wont be going out, I love snuggling down on the sofa and watching a Christmas movie. I know a few of you may say its too early but for me a Christmas movie is so cosy and I normally snuggle up under a blanket so i’m nice a warm.

I’d love to know what your favourite thing to do when its a a cold crisp day, I’m always on the hunt for new things to do. Have a lovely rest of your week.

Getting the Best night Sleep

Getting a good night sleep can be hard sometimes when there is lots on your mind or you just can’t get comfortable in bed. Sometimes I have had days where I have woken up from an 8 hour sleep and felt exhausted. Getting a good nights sleep is all about the quality of sleep more than how many hours you get and everyones optimum sleep is different.

There are a few things I like to do before sleep to help me clear my mind, switch off and get ready for a good nights sleep. Hopefully this will help you get a good nights sleep too.

Having a Shower in the Evening

I love having a shower or bath in the evening, I find it helps relax and de-stress me after a long hard day at work. If I have had quite a stressful day I will use a lavender shower gel to really help calm me down and start to de-stress. Just before getting into the shower or Bath I will also pop on the heating so it’s nice and toasty in our flat when I get out. The worst thing is getting out of a shower into a cold room. I love taking hot showers so I can get lovely a warm and then pop my cosy PJ’s on once I am out of the shower.

Get your Clothes out for the Next Day

If you wake up early in the morning then this is a great time saver for you. Its really easy just to spend a few minutes grabbing an outfit from your wardrobe and then putting it on a chair or chest ready for tomorrow morning. Even if you don’t have to wake up early it’s nice knowing that your outfit is sorted for the next day and also makes getting ready in the morning a bit quicker, which I love.

Set Aside 1 hour Before Going to Sleep

I tend to be in bed by 9:30 and asleep at the latest at 10:30, that way I can wake up at 7am ready for the day ahead. It’s good to set aside about 1 hour before you go to sleep to give you time to switch off and really relax. There is no point trying to go to bed with loads of thoughts racing around your head as you won’t be able to sleep. In this hour you might want to watch something on the TV or read your favourite book. Do something that you don’t really need to concentrate on and you can just switch off whilst doing it.

Putting your phone on Silent

Putting your phone on silent and turning off all social media notifications is really important. If my phone makes a noise, from a notification, I always want to see what it is so putting my phone on silent stops all of that. Try and put your phone on silent at least 30 mins before you go to bed and don’t touch it until the morning. Some phones allow you to set a sleep time allowing notifications to come through but not disturb you. I find its really nice not to have to worry about checking my social media account when i’m in bed, you need a break from it.

Make a to-do List for the Next Day

If you already have things you know you need to get done tomorrow then make a to-do list, this will help you clear your head and make sure you don’t forget what you need to do. I like keeping a pad a paper by my bed so if I need to write anything down just before bed then I can. Making a to-do list really help me stop worrying about what I need to do tomorrow and makes me feel more relaxed. I always find when I am lying in bed things I need to do will come to me so keeping a pad of paper and a pen by my bed means I can quickly write them down, and stop worrying about them.

I use to always read a book before going to bed as I loved reading and it made me really sleepy. I have recently gotten back into reading and much prefer it to watching something on my laptop before bed. I find watching TV or a movie before bed can make me feel more awake, which apparently is due to the light being let off by our screens. If you don’t like reading a book then why not read a magazine, sometime it’s nice to have a book or magazine you can read bits of but not have a commit to reading the whole thing.

Using a Pillow Spray

A lot of people I know swear by using a pillow sprays before falling asleep, I have used one a couple of times and have to say it really works. Everyone raves about the Deep Sleep Pillow Spray by This Works, which has been formulated with Lavender, Vetivert and Camomile, to allow you to get the best possible nights sleep. I love how good this product makes me feel and the Lavender really helps calm down and completely relax after a long day.

If you find it hard falling asleep at night or getting a restful nights sleep then maybe try some of the things mentioned today and see if it helps. I also find its good to have a evening routine so you body knows its bedtime so try and set a time your in bed by. Everyone has their own ways of relaxing and unwinding in the evening and these are mine. I would love to know how you get ready for for a good nights sleep.

Hope you enjoy x

Glossier: First Impressions

I decided to give into the temptation and purchase a few products from Glossier. I watched loads of reviews and read a ton of blog posts and finally decided to pick up the following three items. I wanted to try out some makeup, as I am very fussy with skincare and bloggers seem to prefer the makeup over the skincare. So here is what I picked up.

Stretch Concealer in Light 10

The first product I got was the stretch concealer in light. I have always used the Borjour radiance reveal concealer, which is a liquid concealer, and I was really interested to try this one as a comparison. I love the concept of having a concealer as a solid that the melts with the heat of your fingers making it so easy to apply and blend flawlessly. I have been really impressed with this product and love how light and silky it feels on my skin. Glossier is all about very natural and glowed looking products and this concealer is definitely that.

I love how smooth this feels on my skin and it actually has a really good coverage too, I have managed to cover up redness and spots, which really surprised me. You don’t need a lot of this product as it goes a long way. This concealer is so quick to apply and you don’t need any tools either, making it perfect to travel with or chuck in your hand bag when you are out and about. This product comes in three shades but i think they easily coverage a range of skin colours, which is perfect.

Cloud Paint in Dusk

I bought this product as I was very intrigued with it but wasn’t too sure if I was going to like it, I was wrong I love it. I have tried cream blushers in the past and never got on with them, but this one is different. It comes in a tub, which looks like a paint tube (love it!) and it is a liquid consistency. You don’t need much of this at all, as it goes a really long way and is very pigmented. I find applying this with your fingers is the easiest way to really blend the product in, as the heat of your fingers helps.

I decided to pick up this product in dusk, which is a bronzy colour, and I am in love with it. Sometimes its nice to just has a bronzed look, rather than contouring and then using a blusher. I love how healthy I look after applying this and it is definitely a dewy look, which I am in love with. It literally takes me 30 seconds to apply, which is so fast and means I can do a natural makeup look in minutes. There are 4 cloud paints ranging from bronzy all the way through to a lovely bright pink.

Balm Dotcom Universal Lip Slave in Original

The final product  I picked up was the Balm Dotcom in original. I was really temped to pick this up in the mint version but I felt if my lips felt sore I don’t fancy them tingling with mint. I have been using this most days and really like it. I have been using the L’Occitane 100% Shea butter on my lips, which is a really thick balm that is amazing for dry skin. I think I actually prefer this Balm Dotcom now. I love that it is a thick consistency but melts a bit on your lips and makes them feel moisturised for hours, which a lot of lip balms don’t.

I was really surprised at how thick this product is, at first I couldn’t get it out of the tube but I now know you just have to really squeeze. You don’t need a lot of this product and I love that it doesn’t leave your lips looking really greasy. You could easily pop this on your lips after doing a makeup look if you want a natural lip or wear it to bed and not have to worry about marking your sheets. This product has no smell and can be used on any part of your body that feels really dry. The perfect product to throw in your hand bag or take when traveling.

So those are the items I have picked up from glossier. Have you bought anything from Glossier? What are your favourite products and what would you recommend me picking up next.

Adopting the Hygge Life

With winter and Christmas just around the corner I thought it was time to share with you some cosy Interior inspiration. So lets talk Hygge interiors, (pronounced hoo-guh). If you don’t know what Hygge is (where have you been?) it is a Danish word for wellbeing and hence making your life/home cosy, contempt and happy. In scandinavia it is referred to as a measure of cosiness. Hygge can be added into your life in lots of different ways, it is basically a way to help simplify and make you more contempt and happy with your life and surroundings.

I thought I would share with you some of my favourite Hygge interiors, from Pinterest, and show you how you can incorporate these into your home.

Cushion & Throws

cushions, throws

Incorporating lots of cushions and throws into your living room and bedroom instantly makes a room feel more homely and cosy. Think about the material & texture of the pillows and throws. If you want your bedroom to look really cosy then consider using some faux fur pillows with a knitted blanket and then keep the colours more on the grey scale with pops of blush perhaps. I find having greys in the bedroom really helps to make it more of a tranquil and peaceful space to be in, and adding colour into the living room brightens your home.

When it comes to your sofa look at layering different texture and fabrics but keeping them in the same colour range. If you have a light coloured sofa then look at getting pillows and throws that are a bit darker to add some contrast. I love having a really soft cosy blanket draped across the arm of our sofa, so when it gets a bit cold I can snuggle up under it. Pillow wise I love having really soft fluffy pillows that are really comfy to lean on. Look at velvet, Chunky knitted pillows , maybe even some faux fur too. At the end of the day if your living room feels inviting, cosy and brings a smile to your face you have achieved a Hygge interior.

A basket of cosyness

Another great idea is to buy a basket or wicket box and pop some blankets, books and a pillows and keep it by your sofa or in your bedroom for the cold winter day you need it the most. This way you can have a extra blanket to hand or you can dip into one of your favourite books on a cosy afternoon.

Fire Places & Candles

fire place

living room 4

I always have a candle alight in our flat, it makes the whole room feel cosy and smell amazing. There is something magical about watching the flame dancing around in a jar and having a warm glow from it. By lighting a candle it completely changes that atmosphere in your home and instantly adds a cosy feeling. My favourite candles to burn are Woodwick candles; as the name suggests they have a wooden wick making them crackle as you burn them. It reminds me of siting by a warm log burner in the winter.

Talking about long burner, fireplaces are another way of adding a really homely and comforting feeling to your living room. If you are lucky enough to have a fire place then I am very jealous, when we move I would love a log burner. I could spend hours just watching a fire burn and feeling the warmth on my body. Lighting a fire instantly makes a room feel cosy and once its burning it is amazing to sit next to and keep warm. I love warming up by the fire place after a long cold walk on a chilly afternoon whilst watching a movie.

adding some greenary

Adding some plants and foliage into your homes, whether they are real or fake, really helps to freshen up the rooms. We brought three plants about 4 months ago and I love them, it just brings our home to life. Ferns are a great choice as they aren’t too big and  are very easy to keep alive, which makes life easier. There is something very satisfying about keeping a plan alive and its also proven to help your health.

If you didn’t know what Hygge was before then hopefully you now know and if you weren’t sure how to incorporate it into your home, hopefully this helped. If you want to try it out, start in one room, make it feel homely and Hygge.

So, get your candles, a crackling fireplace, a mug with a hot drink, and your wool socks, in the grey of winter, nothing will make you feel better than Hygge. Let me know if you have any other Hygge interior tips or inspiration.

Skincare Update & Changes

I have found over the last 6 months that my skin has change from normal to combination/oily. I recently visited a Space NK store to get some advice on which products I should be using to help control the oils on my face. I picked up a few new skincare pieces so I thought I would share then with you. Enjoy!

The consultant at Space Nk ran through what type of products I should be using and why my skin might be oily. My skin in the past has always been amazing, I would get the occasional spot which was usually hormonal, but apart from that the only problem I had was rosy cheeks due to my sensitive skin. In the winter I use to get dry patched between my nose so I gave Kiehls Midnight Recovery a go and it worked a dream to help hydrate my skin and leave it feeling silky soft. My skincare in the past has consisted of Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, The Ordinary Hyaluronic 2% + B5 , and Liz Earle Light Skin Repair. This skincare routine was amazing for my normal skin type but I think it is now just not working for me. So these are the products I picked up.

Oskia Renaissance: Cleansing Gel

The first product I was recommended was the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel. I have heard so many people rave about this cleansing gel. It is packed full with vitamin A,C & E, Omega 6, Pumpkin Enzymes, Charmomile & Rose. If you have more of a combination skin then you should use a gel instead of an oil or cream cleanser.

I had read a lot of reviews, before purchasing this product, with many saying this cleanser had really helped clear up congested skin and overall made their skin look a lot brighter and healthier. I was a bit worried with the scent of this cleanser, a lot of people said it smelt of turkish delight, but I love the smell. To me this cleanser smells more of pumpkin/orange than the sweetness of turkish delight.

The texture of this cleanser is quite different, I am use to a cream cleanser. When you pump the cleanser onto your hands it comes out as a gel, which you then massage onto your skin until it turns into an oil. You then need to add a small amount of water so that the oil emulsifies and then I like to remove it with a warm muslin cloth. It sounds like this cleanser has too many steps but it literally takes me a minute, so even if your in a rush there is no excuse.

There are so many benefits to this cleanser and I am so excited to see how well this works for me. I have been using it for a few weeks and have already seen a massive improvement on my chin. I use to have tiny red spot on my chin and most of them have already cleared up. I have also had a lot less breakouts, which is amazing. I love how light this cleanser feels on my skin and that it isn’t drying or leaves you skin feeling greasy.

Dr Dennis Gross: Hyaluronic Marine Oil-free Moisture Cushion

I was also recommended a new moisturiser and let me tell you this one is not cheap. I have heard in the past that if you have oily skin then you should get a moisturiser that is oil free, which mine wasn’t. I had know for a while I needed to switch up my moisturiser but had no clue which one to use. The consultant at Space NK recommend this one from Dr Dennis Gross, which is a brand I hadn’t heard before, so after a lot of research I decided to take the plunge. This water-break gel-cream moisturiser is formulated with Japanese Marine algae, hyaluronic acid and essential amino acids to help lock in moisture without clogging your pores.

This moisturiser has a gel like texture and is light blue, but on the skin it is clear thank god (don’t fancy looking like a smurf!) I love how light this moisturiser feels on the skin and how quickly it sinks in. I found my old moisturiser, which was a cream, took a while to skin in where as this is within a matter of seconds. I wouldn’t really say this moisturiser has much of a scent, it just smells quite natural and reminds me of the sea but it isn’t an over powering scent. Overall I have been impressed so far my skin doesn’t look at all oily but I know skincare products take some time to see proper results.

Sunday Riley: Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil

Finally, I was recommended the Juno Face Oil by Sunday Riley but have decided not to pick it up yet. I was so close to purchasing this product but i’m not sure I can justify spending £70 on a face oil. This face oil is packed full with tons of Vitamins, omega oils, amino acids, natural UV shields and anti-inflammatory agents. All these ingredients help reduce blemished and turn tired dull skin into a dewy healthy complexion.

This product sounds  amazing and lots of bloggers rave about the Sunday Riley face oils, if you have tried Juno then let me know what you think of it. Should I try it? I have decided to see how my skin copes with the cleansing gel and moisturiser first and then see if I want to add in this product too.

If you love skincare or are having problems with an oily complexion like me then hopefully you have enjoyed this really long blog post. If you have used Juno then let me know you thoughts on it and whether you think I should buy it.

Hopefully you are all having a lovely week and I will see you soon.
